In Ghaziabad, a 35-year-old man was arrested on Sunday for allegedly causing the death of a 70-year-old woman during a confrontation with her son in Madhuban Bapudham. The deceased's son, Bijendra Kumar, had a disagreement with the accused, Majid, who lives in the same area. According to officials, the woman, Ramvati Devi, tried to protect her son during the argument. Unfortunately, during the altercation, Majid pushed Ramvati, causing her to fall and sustain injuries that ultimately led to her passing. Abhishek Srivastava, ACP of Kavi Nagar, explained that Bijendra lived with his brother and mother in LIG flats under the Kanshiram Avas Yojna in Madhuban Bapudham. The incident occurred around 12.30 am when Majid, an e-rickshaw driver allegedly under the influence of alcohol, was sitting outside the Kumar residence. An argument ensued when Bijendra questioned Majid's presence there. Ramvati got involved to try and calm the situation but tragically got pushed by Majid, resulting in her fatal injuries. She was taken to the hospital but was declared dead by the doctors. An FIR has been lodged at Madhuban Bapudham police station, and the accused has been remanded to judicial custody after being produced in court.
